Diagrams are required in all public buildings; apartment complexes when there are common areas; all commercial premises; aged care facilities; hospitals etc… according to AS3745. Building Fire Services Regulation 2008 states it is not required if the BUILDING is less than 300m2. However, if you do not install them, you are breaching AS3745.
As well as being displayed along all exit routes in a building, they also need to be kept in the Emergency Management Response Folder (physical folder). It is also recommended that a soft copy is kept.
