Art Waves—Therapeutic Art Activities to Help You Through the Early Stages of Grief

AIM

When grieving, it’s normal to experience emotional overload, but there are ways to manage the bad times and at least reduce our stress rather than adding to it.

No matter what you’re feeling right now, your goal is still the same – to get through this period of your life with your mental health intact.

It’s normal to experience intense emotions for a very long time, especially when we feed them with extra thoughts about ‘What if…?’ and ‘If only…!’, so during these difficult times, I encourage you to take a deep breath and TAKE ACTION.

These lessons are designed to teach you HOW to take a break, steady yourself and grow through the pain, because, during the very early stages of grief, moments of relaxation are only possible when you have something else to focus on.

The practical activities included will help you to find the energy you need to face the next challenge. Each task can be approached in different ways so you can do them over and over again, to help you focus on the ‘Now', especially when you’re emotionally and physically exhausted or feeling stuck thinking about the past or worrying about the future.

These fail-proof art-making projects will stand the test of time, and even when repeated, will retain their freshness and pleasure. Use them whenever you need help to move from GRIEVING to BREATHING.
