Introduction to Strategic Compensation Management
Compensation supports and links to several HR programs and functions, so it is important that every HR Professional have at least a general understanding of Compensation. A well-structured, transparent, and objective Compensation program is important in attracting, engaging, and retaining top talent. This program will help HR Professionals build competencies in Strategic Compensation Management and get an appreciation for new developments and the future direction of Compensation in a changing environment.
Participants in this course will learn the essentials of Compensation while they engage in activities designed to build their competencies and skills in all areas of Strategic Compensation. They will learn how to analyze and evaluate jobs, establish job values using internal and external methods and develop pay structures and pay for performance systems all relevant to their organisation.
At the end of this program participants will understand the factors that influence the design of an appropriate Compensation Program for the company, be able to evaluate their organisation and design an appropriate Total Rewards System suitable to its needs and strategy and link the system with the organisation strategy and people performance.
Facilitators will use a mix of self-learning and Facilitator led training, individual and team presentations and a high level of in-class activities to build competencies of participants. Activities will be focused on designing and operationalizing the specific Compensation and Benefits program in the Company of the participant.
Participants should have some experience in Human Resource Management. They must also be willing to engage in self-paced learning. This facilitates participants learning on their own time in their own space.
